Floorball Grip
Floorball asks different things than racket sports. You hold with both hands, shift grip position constantly during play, and the stick takes impacts a racket never does. The wrap has to handle wear from two directions at once.
Znake Boa uses the same dense material as our racket grips, sized for stick shafts. The texture stays put through a season instead of going smooth after a few sessions.
What to consider
Shaft length
Floorball sticks are cut to the player's height, so wrap length varies more than in racket sports. Measure before ordering — most senior sticks need more wrap than a tennis racket.
Upper and lower hand
The upper hand stays put and wears one spot; the lower hand slides along the shaft. Many players wrap tighter at the top and looser below. A denser material copes better with that uneven load.
Grip versus feel
A very tacky grip locks the hand in place, which works against the quick grip changes floorball is built on. Boa is deliberately less sticky than our Sticky line for exactly that reason.
Questions
How often should you re-grip a floorball stick?
Most players change once or twice a season. Change sooner if the surface has gone shiny where the upper hand sits — that's where wear always shows first.
How do you wrap a floorball stick?
Start at the top of the stick and wrap downward with even tension and about a third of overlap. Finish where your lower hand normally sits. Secure it with the tape supplied.
